What you need to know about the GWCIFF
What is the Deal with the Filmmaker Party?
We are hosting a party and award ceremony to celebrate all the films and filmmakers that entered the festival. Please join us at Wayside Cider at 7:30 pm on Saturday, October 20th for this event. The party is open to the public, guests are welcome.
We will have a small number of drink tickets for each filmmaker and there will be a cash bar for the public. We hope you will join us!
Please note, all official submissions are eligible for the awards, even if your film screens after the award ceremony.
The party is made possible by our party sponsor Cinema Sciences as well as the West Kill Brewing. We would also like to thank our festival sponsor Catskill Country Living and our venue host, Wayside Cider for all their support.
Where do I pick up my passes?
The film festival box office will be open on Friday from 4pm to 9pm, Saturday from 10:00 am to 7pm and Sunday from 11:00 am to 7:00pm.
Filmmakers who have notified the festival that they are attending can pick up their passes during box office hours. The box office is located at Hasbeens & Willbees at 11 Delaware Avenue (at the corner of Main Street) in Andes.
Do my passes get me into every movie?
They sure do! We would love for you to see as many films as possible and support your fellow filmmakers.
How do my friends buy tickets?
Please direct your friends and family to our ticketing page here to buy tickets or passes in advance. They can also pick up tickets at the festival at the box office at Hasbeens & Willbees at 11 Delaware Avenue (at Main).
The box office will be open on Friday from 4pm to 9pm, Saturday from 10:00 am to 7pm and Sunday from 11:00 am to 7:00pm.
Where are the screenings?
We have three venues that will host the screenings. Streamside Yoga is at 506 Main Street, The Andes Hotel is at 110 Main Street and Wayside Cider is at 55 Redden Lane, right off Main Street. All are in Andes, all are within walking distance. You can see the venues here.
What do I need to know about Delaware County?
It's a very large county in the Catskills. We are a farming community so we tend to rise early and go to bed early so we try to be very polite to our neighbors. We are well known for being a beautiful place with unbelievable natural resources that are untouched by a lot of development. We have a number of adorable small towns with friendly people and great places to eat and drink. We are well known for our farm-to-table restaurants and we treat our farmers like rock stars as we are so proud to live in a place that grows and raises such incredible food for the rest of the country to enjoy. You can learn more about the county by visiting the official tourism site here.
Another thing to know is that cell service can be spotty. On average, its pretty good and most businesses will offer free wifi but know that losing service is always possible!
What do I need to bring with me?
We recommend that you pack as if you are going to be cold. We are in the mountains so that means it can be very warm one minute and cold and damp the next. Some of our venues are partially outdoors so please dress accordingly. We don't want you to be cold!
Are there Concessions at each Screening Venue?
Each venue is different.
Streamside Yoga is a studio. There is no bar or concessions on the property.
The Andes Hotel has a full bar and is also a full restaurant. There is also popcorn on the bar typically.
Wayside Cider is a tap room that serves only New York State beverages. Luckily, this state makes a ton of great ones. They have a full selection of cocktails, beer and their Wayside brand cider. They also have a selection of food with the kitchen open until 9pm.
What do I do if I need to get in touch with someone at the festival?
Please come find us at Hasbeens & Willbees at 11 Delaware Avenue during box office hours. If there is an emergency, please text festival staff at 917.903.7728 or 918.885.9080.
